How to secure us as your minister
You may send us an email or
give us a call. We will ask additional information from you, then send
copies of our vows that would work best for your particular wedding. You may
look over the vows, rearrange them, add or delete, or not use them at all,
creating your own instead. When you’ve settled on a ceremony that reflects
what you want, just be sure to let us know. The length of a basic wedding
ceremony is approximately 15-20 minutes. If you add songs, readings,
communion, and/or additional ceremonies, it would be 30-35 minutes.
We consider our contract with you, a check for half the ministerial fee -
mailed as soon as you’ve decided to hire one of us. The other half of our
fee is due on the day of your rehearsal, or if you’re not having a
rehearsal, the day of your wedding. You can also send in the complete fee if
you wish, which would eliminate one more thing to remember on your wedding
day.
The
marriage license
Each state in the U.S. differs slightly as to the laws concerning marriages.
If you are a Michigan resident, you must apply for a marriage license in the
county where you live. {Don’t forget to bring it with you!} If you live
outside of Michigan, contact the courthouse in the county where you are
getting married to secure your license. Most licenses cost $35.00 and are
valid for 33 days. Most courthouses are only opened Monday-Friday, so plan
accordingly. |
